This issue of Jet Magazine was published on August 14, 1975. Robert DeLeon, the Jet managing editor and third husband to Diahann Carroll, wrote the cover story. Sadly, DeLeon died in an automobile accident two years later. Carroll has been a public advocate for screening women for breast carcinoma over the years. A few years after the publication of the 1975 Jet Magazine, Carroll has become a public advocate for breast cancer screening.
