The 1985 Dallas Mavericks were a professional basketball team that competed in the 1985-86 NBA season. The Mavericks finished the season with an overall record of 44-38 and went 26-15 at home, and 18-23 on the roads. They reached the playoffs and finished 49-43. Los Angeles Lakers lost to them in the Western Conference Semifinals. The team didn’t win the championship but it was a very successful season.

During the 1980s, they were a perennial playoff team, led by All-Stars Mark Aguirre and Rolando Blackman. The franchise had a difficult rebuilding period during the 1990s, but eventually won their first NBA title in 2011 under the leadership of Dirk Nowitzki.

For the second year in a row, the Mavericks made it to the playoffs. In the first round of the playoffs, they lost to the Portland Trail Blazers in five games. The team finished 7-9 in the playoffs after finishing at 6-2. In 1986, the Mavericks went 56-30 in the playoffs. And in a season marked by tragedy, star guard Luka Love was found dead during a game against the Rockets.

After falling behind Memphis in the first quarter, the Mavericks came back to win the game in the second half. After a slow start, the Mavericks held the Grizzlies to just 18 points. The Mavericks led Memphis 84-73 at halftime and held them to only 12 points in the final quarter. A comeback win was the only way to end the game.
