2 Easy Makeup Routines for a Full-Glam Look

Both makeup looks are going to start with you prepping and priming your face for makeup. You are going to first want to cleanse your face with your favorite cleanser. You also have the option to exfoliate at this point, but you only want to be doing this three to four times a week to prevent over-drying your skin. Then you are going to want to follow up with your regular moisturizer. Prepping with moisturizer is key to ensuring that your foundation goes on smoothly. If you are going out during the day you will also want to apply your sunscreen at this time. SPF is important to ensuring your skin’s long term health.

Once you have your skin clean, moisturized and protected with SPF, it’s time to use your primer. Makeup primer is a step many people skip, however this is an important part of a full-glam look. If you want your makeup to stay in place all day and night, you will want to employ the help of a makeup primer. Primers also help to smooth and blur any imperfections or fine lines you may have. Apply your favorite primer all over your face to finish prepping your skin for foundation.

Complexion

After you prep your skin, you can move on to your complexion. Start off with your foundation. You want to make sure you are using the correct shade and level of coverage. Light coverage foundations are good for evening out the skin tone but will not cover any major imperfections. Medium to full coverage foundations work well for people who are trying to cover excessive redness or blemishes. If you struggle to get your foundation shade right, head to your local Sephora or Ulta to get color matched by a professional. It can also be helpful to apply your foundation in natural lighting so you can see an accurate representation of the shade.

Once you have a foundation that works for you, you can start applying the foundation starting at the center of the face and working outward. Use a flat top foundation brush instead of a makeup sponge to reduce product waste. Blend your foundation out until you are satisfied with the result. If there are any imperfections peaking through your foundation, reach for your concealer next to help cover them. The concealer you use for this step should be an exact color match.

Next you want to grab a shade of concealer that is one to two shades lighter than your skin tone. This will be applied to the undereye area to help conceal any dark circles. Apply this shade in an upside down triangle to your undereye area and then blend. You will want to follow this step with a translucent powder to set the look in place.

2 Easy Looks

Now that you’ve got your complexion perfectly made up, it’s time to move on to two easy looks that you can do starting with the same base. Here’s how:

Classic Glam: For a classic Hollywood glam look, you will want to start with a matte eyeshadow that is a few shades lighter than your skin tone. Apply this all over the lid and use a light matte brown to define the crease and outer half of the lid. Then go in with a highlight shade that you will apply under your brows and in the inner corners of your eyes. Then take a black liquid eyeliner and use it to paint on a bold wing shape. Follow up with DIY lash extensions and mascara to finish off the eyes.

For the rest of your face, you will want to go with a darker mauve toned blush on the apples of your cheeks and contour your face as you normally would. Subtlety highlight the high points on your face and finish the look off with a bold red lip.

Bronzed and Glowing: To get the bronzed, just stepped off the beach type of look, you will want to start out with a tan shimmery eyeshadow. Apply this color all over the lid and work it up into the crease of the eye. This is a one eyeshadow look so spend some time blending the shadow up into the crease to emphasize the area. Then take a shimmery shade that is lighter then the first to use as a highlight under the brow and on the inner corners. Use a dark brown shadow in place of harsh liquid liner. Smudge the shadow into your lash line and follow up with mascara and DIY lash extensions.

Instead of a contour, use a bronzer with a shimmer all over your face and use a highlighter on the high points for an extra glow. Finish with a pale pink blush and a nude shimmery lip.

There you have it! Two easy makeup routines for a full glam look. Finish off with a setting spray and pack your lipstick to reapply throughout the day or night and you are good to go!
