Early Life and Education

Musselman said during her rehabilitation she rediscovered how much she loved UCLA. She recalls wearing her cap for the first time this season since her surgery and feeling proud to represent them at Spieker Aquatics Center.

She made an immediate impactful debut year at UCLA, breaking its freshman goal scoring record with 69 goals while leading in sprint wins, steals and field blocks – becoming Mountain Pacific Sports Federation newcomer of the year in her rookie campaign.

Musselman has an eagerness to learn and connect with leaders across sports. She has met with MLB managers Dusty Baker, Phil Nevin, Joe Maddon as well as NBA coaches Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane. Additionally he was a member of Flohras Lutheran Church in McKnightstown while owning and operating his Flower Shop and Greenhouses.

Professional Career

Michael Musselman joined the team as a graduate assistant, helping with player development, opponent scouting reports, film editing and statistical analysis breakdowns of games. Michael also brings experience from his time spent serving as student manager at University of San Diego.

Musselman’s teams work to spread the floor and take high-value shots. His defensive units force turnovers while simultaneously pressuring opponents while not committing many fouls; their aim is to get to the free throw line, and they have proven very adept at reaching that destination.

Achievement and Honors

On May 11 at Musselman High School cafeteria in Inwood, more than 250 guests gathered at the Bunker Hill-Musselman Alumni Association banquet, hosted by Dean Marcolongo. Honors presented included Meritorious Service and Professional Achievement awards presented by Musselman College to George Diehl ’70 ChE; Adam Beckmann ’10 CE; 11 MSCE and Donald Emery MD ’71EE for their meritorious services to education.

Team USA defeated China 14-1 Tuesday afternoon, thanks to five Bruins with local connections who played on Team USA. Rachel Fattal, Brigitta Games and Maddie Musselman scored for Team USA; Musselman shared team scoring lead with 18 goals while leading in scoring last spring as a freshman at UCLA before earning Player of the Year honors from Mountain Pacific Sports Federation for her efforts.

Personal Life

Musselman is an avid sports fan. His favorite activities include watching hockey and baseball games; Colorado Avalanche are his team of choice! In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family.

He is the proud parent of two children; Eric, in particular, has become an invaluable member of his coaching staff since joining the Razorbacks in 2013.

Musselman enjoys close relationships with both his team and family. Many of his assistant coaches have worked alongside him at other schools; for instance, scheduler Anthony Ruta became close with Musselman during their graduate assistant days at Arizona State.

Arkansas also employs special assistant Hays Myers, director of basketball operations; associate head coach Clay Moser spent six seasons working under Musselman in Nevada; all three have connections to the NBA.
