IVCC Student Adam Oldaker Presents at the Honors Council Symposium

Emily Scully, Brianna Legner and Chase Ochsner from IVCC recently participated in the Honors Council Symposium by presenting information about their experiences in the Honors Program such as taking Myers-Briggs personality types assessments, interviewing professionals from their desired fields of endeavor and sharing autobiographical details about themselves.

Adam Oldaker has utilized rhetorical-genre pedagogy in his ENG 1001 course to greatly increase student satisfaction and completion rates.

Early Life and Education

Oldaker spent his formative years living in Waggener, West Virginia with his parents and three brothers. He attended high school there before attending college nearby; upon graduating he relocated to Tulsa where he joined The Rogues Five; they enjoyed regional success before appearing on KOTV’s dance show Dance Party! Oldaker has collaborated with artists such as Peter Frampton, Bob Seger, Eric Clapton and Asleep at the Wheel.

He currently resides in Plano, Texas at 3509 Nancy Ct since January of 2019 after previously living at 109 S Ellsworth Pl, South Bend IN 46617 from April 2017 until January 2019. He is survived by his wife Elissa as well as children Yvonne Cecile, Morgan Wren, Eloise Beatrix, and Joseph Paul Oldaker.

Professional Career

Adam excelled during his high school wrestling career as both team captain and four year letter winner. His leadership enabled his team to achieve one of its finest four year stretches ever. Additionally, Adam established himself as an all-time takedown leader.

He earned multiple accolades, such as 2002 Sentinel All Star selection and Patriot News Big 11 Wrestling Team member designation, Legion All-Star shortstop status and two District III Championship wins.

He has been employed at IVCC since 1994, holding various roles within the college. Currently he teaches English; additionally he has participated in community activities like Polar Plunges and raising money for Special Olympics while being an active member of Sigma Kappa Delta Mu Alpha chapter.

Achievement and Honors

Oldaker has collaborated with numerous musicians such as Peter Frampton, Stephen Stills, Asleep at the Wheel, Freddie King and Leon Russell – producing several albums including 24 Nights and Mad Dogs & Okies.

Adam Weaver was one of three sons of West Perry Hall of Fame member Dave Weaver who all possess natural athletic ability and amassed remarkable career statistics during four years as a letter winner on the Mustang wrestling team. Adam earned two MPC Capital Division All Star honors, three Carlisle Sentinel All Star selections and Patriot-News Big 14 Wrestling Team selections among his accolades; becoming one of only ten wrestlers to join West Perry’s 20 Win Club; while also becoming the school’s top takedown scorer ever and two Mid Penn Conference Tournament Championships!

Personal Life

At home, he is married and the proud parent of three children. A big family man, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids as well as socializing with close friends. Renowned for his generosity and kindness, he never meets a stranger; always ready to lend assistance when necessary.

An avid music lover, he has collaborated with several acclaimed musicians over his long musical career. These include Bellamy Brothers, Asleep at the Wheel, Peter Frampton and Eric Clapton; as well as recording songs with Asleep at the Wheel and Eric Clapton for various albums including Mad Dogs & Okies.

According to public records, he currently lives at 3509 Nancy Ct, Plano TX 75023 for around four years now.
