Actor/Singer/Songwriter Adam Shook

Adam Lack was Veronica Lack’s high school valedictorian and earned an academic scholarship to Brown University in Rhode Island. After graduation he moved back home to Iowa and worked at POET Biorefining Plant as production supervisor.

Adam was often harassed by silent pickup trucks and a Chevrolet Impala that prowled their driveway at night, taunting him with violent acts before quickly admitting that he is an addictive liar. The story opens with Adam bragging about one violent act before quickly realizing his deceitfulness – then quickly showing that it wasn’t just another lie!

Early Life and Education

Adam Shook hails from Muscle Shoals, Alabama and graduated from one of the country’s premier private performing arts schools: The Boston Conservatory. A member of Actors Equity Association for professional actors, Adam has performed worldwide as both singer/songwriter and producer; working alongside such teachers as Keith Lockhart, TONY winner Betty Buckley and legendary Bill Russell as teachers and working on numerous fundraising cabarets as well as two year sold out run of Suddenly Susan Boil at Provincetown ArtHouse Theatre.

He currently practices at Yale New Haven Hospital and accepts multiple insurance plans; more information can be found through his Sharecare insurance checker. In his free time he enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams, golfing and spending time with family and friends.

Professional Career

Adam is a specialist in complex commercial litigation and product liability, possessing considerable trial experience including serving as lead trial counsel in an arbitration involving $1 billion dollars, second chairing several product liability trials and representing and cross examining key expert witnesses in high stakes litigation cases.

He advises clients on data governance, discovery and information management strategies; is highly experienced at negotiating and drafting protective orders and production protocols; has extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office 365; and specializes in cloud planning, change management and in-place discovery services.

Datacatessen LLC, a boutique big data solutions provider. He has over 7 years of experience as the founding principal consultant, holding both his Bachelor and Masters from University of Maryland Baltimore County.

Achievement and Honors

Shook offers an introspective autobiography about his turbulent life, detailing imprisonment, stalker attacks and battles with bipolar disorder that left him suicidal depressions and public humiliation. Furthermore, Shook explores his struggles with alcohol and drug dependency that inspired the songs on Nightroamer in 2022.

Starting his senior career at Rangers, he spent much of his time on loan to Ross County and St Mirren – winning both the Scottish Challenge Cup and First Division titles while with them.

He gained valuable experience as a judicial extern for a federal judge in Kansas, conducting legal research and writing memos/draft orders for him as an extern judge in this role. By working closely with both court personnel and his judge he gained insight into how courts operate.

Personal Life

Shook was raised in a fundamentalist Christian family and homeschooled, which limited their access to music. But by age 15 they learned piano and acoustic guitar – starting a band by this point!

Shook is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. They have one son and are active in LGBTQ and civil rights causes, as well as supporting women and non-binary artists through Manifest Festival in Chapel Hill each year.

Shook has also established himself as a professional actor and producer, performing with both Keith Lockhart of Boston Pops fame and as part of their band; producing many fundraising events and cabarets; currently living in Provincetown MA as an active member of Actors Equity Association which represents professional actors.
