Adopt a Poodle

A 501 (c) 3 charity organization, Somerset Cottage Poodle Rescue is committed to finding permanent homes for abandoned or abused poodles. Founded in 2014 by dog lovers, the organization has rescued hundreds of dogs. It provides foster care, transportation, and information about animal shelters and rescue organizations. If you’d like to adopt an animal, you can find the location nearest you by using the website Petfinder.

Before adopting a dog, it’s important to know that the organization takes in many senior dogs who require extensive veterinary care. Veterinary bills and dental work can reach upwards of $2,000, so the adoption fee will vary for each dog. The higher adoption fee helps care for each animal that’s saved. Please keep this in mind when filling out the application. Please note that Somerset Cottage Poodle Rescue does not adopt puppies under 10 years of age.

The Somerset Cottage Poodle Rescue’s mission consists of educating the public about responsible dog ownership and providing medical care for dogs in distress. Since 2006, it has saved over 800 poodles.

While shelters have strict requirements for adopting a pet, they also put the dog’s welfare first. If you’re unfamiliar with adopting a poodle, be sure to research the area you’re considering. Shelters may require proof of your home’s suitability. You can also search Sheepadoodles via Petfinder or another similar website. It is highly recommended that you visit the shelter or rescue to ensure that the dog is a good match.

The Doodle Dandy Rescue is a nonprofit organization in New Jersey that offers an extensive adoption program to help doodles in dire need find forever homes. Adopters must complete an application, sign an agreement, and pay an adoption fee. The DDR adopts to people who live within a 350-mile radius of the shelter. The DDR also conducts vet inspections to ensure that the adoptee is healthy and well.

There are many local Poodle Rescues. Many local rescues have volunteer programs that are run by people who are dedicated to saving the dogs. These organizations are also able to place doodles from all breeds in permanent homes. To adopt a poodle, you’ll need to fill out an application form, and visit the rescue’s website to meet the dogs. To find the right match for your dog, you will need to complete an application and provide three references.
