Serenity Garnett, a seven-month-old girl, was attacked by an American Bulldog Great Pyrenees mix. Her great-grandmother was watching the baby at the time of the attack. The dog caused serious injuries to the child, but the great-grandmother survived the attack. The infant was transported to the AU Medical Center, but she died later. Serenity’s great-grandmother, Rosalie Rivera, said she was surprised by the dog’s viciousness, which left the girl unconscious.
