Avon Lake Invitational 2021

The 24th Avon Lake Track and Field Invitational was the first competition for the Lorain Titans. The Titans competed against 27 other teams, including several top schools in Ohio. The Bay Village boys and girls teams finished fifth and sixth in respective races. Many of the team members set new personal records which helped them finish third overall. The Bay Village teams will return to the course Wednesday for the GLC dual meet.

Several collegiate athletes also placed well. Sydney Peer finished fourth in the 800 and ran a personal best in the 1600. Stephanie Nivellini ran well in the 3200, her first race since early November. Sarah Peer won the 1600 in two laps. She finished 2nd overall in 5:00.6, breaking by seven seconds the WHS outdoor record. Sophia Koba, a freshman, won the 1600-meter race.
