Dirden appeals his conviction of aiding and abetting possession of cocaine base with intent to distribute, asserting that the district court improperly denied his motion to suppress evidence obtained during a pretextual traffic stop.
Early Life and Education
Jason Dirden hails from the US and graduated from New York City’s High School of the Performing Arts with distinction. Through hard work, dedication, and his love of his craft he has worked alongside some of Broadway’s premier artists like Kenny Leon and Ruben Santiago-Hudson as well as appearing on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne and Elementary.
Keith David is perhaps best-known for his portrayal of Pastor Basie Skanks on OWN’s Greenleaf, an Emmy Award-winning drama that follows Grace Greenleaf (Keith David) and her powerful family at Calvary Fellowship World Ministries. Produced by Craig Wright with executive producers Clement Virgo and Oprah Winfrey serving as executive producers.
Morehouse College awarded him with a B.A. in Theater. As an active volunteer with the August Wilson Monologue Competition of Los Angeles, he plays an active role as part of its judges panel.
Dirden made quite an impression at the 2020 COVID Draft despite going undrafted, impressing scouts with his big league potential and using a powerful right-handed bat at all three outfield positions, plus offering solid defensive abilities.
He began the season at Single-A Fayetteville before being promoted to High-A Asheville in August. Over his two seasons as a Minor, he has posted an impressive slash line of.278/.397/.537 while recording 58 extra-base hits (including 19 homers).
His current studies at Darden involve corporate strategy and development. Recently he participated in a Darden Worldwide course focused on sustainability in Vietnam. When not studying or traveling he enjoys playing basketball and spending time with his daughter.
Achievement and Honors
Has recently appeared on Broadway in Prelude to a Kiss and The First Breeze of Summer as Paul in Six Degrees of Separation and Cory from Fences at Huntington Theatre Company; Tom Robinson from To Kill a Mockingbird at Indiana Repertory; Hamlet from American Shakespeare Theatre as well as various roles at Cincinnati Playhouse, Pittsburgh Public and Baltimore Center Stage/MSC among many others. Additionally he has made multiple film and TV appearances including “Taking of Pelham 123”, Cupid and various Law & Order series among others.
Brandon Dirden is an American actor known for his roles in various plays such as Prelude to a Kiss, Clybourne Park and Detroit 67. In recognition of his acting achievements he was honored with an OBIE Award, AUDELCO VIV Award, Theater World Award nominations as well as nominations from Drama League and Lucille Lortel Awards for portraying Boy Willie in Signature Theatre’s revival of August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson at Signature Theater.
He is a graduate of Morehouse College and the University of Illinois and now resides in Ferndale, Michigan with his wife Ida and daughter Rosie. Additionally, he serves as News Anchor for WILX Local 4 as well as being an unashamed #GirlDad three times over.
David has long been an active supporter of The Girl Fund, and recently announced his engagement to actress Anika Noni Rose. They plan on hosting their extravagant wedding at Paramour Estate on October 20, 2022.
