Billie Henry Pleads Guilty to Sending a Malicious Communication

She set up a fake email account posing as Sir Lenny Henry and Dawn French and sent her father, Sir Lenny Henry, 185 messages offering money in an attempt to keep the relationship intact. Following Judge Carr’s ruling she received eight months suspended over 12 months as punishment.

Early Life and Education

Billie Henry, adopted by Dawn and Lenny French of Cornwall, plead guilty to sending malicious communications in Dobwalls near Liskeard in Cornwall. Henry was represented by Jo Martin QC of criminal law firm Chambers & Partners.

Prosecutor Matthew Farmer noted that between August and February of last year, the defendant sent emails purporting to come from her father in an effort to cause distress to Mr King and gain his sympathy. These were intended to provoke feelings of irritation in Mr King.

Judge Carr imposed an eight-month jail sentence suspended for 12 months and issued a five-year restraining order prohibiting her from contacting Mr King for five years, and ordered that she complete 20 days of rehabilitation activity requirements as well as pay PS200 court costs for this charge against Billie Henry. Professional Career

Henry is an award-winning voice talent, musician, composer and college lecturer at Texas State University. He offers classes on TV/film music production as well as mixing for radio/TV broadcast and desktop production.

Between 1934 and 1937, he made over 50 films, most notably as a bandleader in “China Seas” (1935). However, his acting career came to a sudden halt after being arrested as an accomplice to a gangster’s attempt at robbing a silver mine in New Mexico.

Henry has done voice work for Southwest Airlines, AT&T, Chili’s, Daisy Sour Cream and Daisy Sour Cream among many others. Additionally he has recorded bands such as The Dixie Chicks, Old Crow Medicine Show and Mumford and Sons while on world tours – in addition to writing and mixing music for commercials he is a member of both BMI and AES.

Achievement and Honors

Billy Henry has been honored with induction into Lenoir City High School Sports Hall of Fame after earning letterman status in both basketball and baseball at Lenoir City High. Later he served as assistant coach for University of Tennessee spring sports teams while working closely with Rick Byrd of Athletic Department Director Rick Byrd to direct these spring teams.

He has served on various ASCE national committees, such as the Committee on Professional Practice, Government Affairs Committee, State Public Affairs Grants Committee and Ad Hoc Committee on Diversity and Women in Civil Engineering.

Billy Crystal, one of only a select few comedians who has won both the Mark Twain Prize from the Kennedy Center and a Grammy award for lifetime artistic achievement, will be recognized this year with this year’s Kennedy Center Honors, alongside Queen Latifah, Dionne Warwick and 70s music icons Burt Bacharach and Hal David.

Personal Life

Billie Roma Henry, 28, from Plymouth posed as her own father to send “highly manipulative” emails to ex-partner Samuel King offering him money, according to court testimony. Additionally, she told King that her own father had violently assaulted her to induce sympathy from him and keep their relationship alive, the jury heard.

Judge Simon Carr of Truro Crown Court sentenced her to eight months of incarceration suspended for one year and placed her under a five-year restraining order barring any contact between herself and Mr King.

Criminal barrister Jo Martin QC represented her and explained she was unemployed, living at home and under the influence of drugs when the incident took place. She pled guilty to one count of harassing another person via email.
