Blowzee Net Worth – How Much are Mark Apelt and Mark Lareau Worth?

Introduction

The Blowzee is a device that prevents the spreading of germs during birthday parties. It works by blowing out the candle through the fan, which is attached to a lithium battery. This way, the risk of spitting on the cake is minimized.

After many trials and prototypes, the Blowzee was finally ready to hit the market. The device has been featured in the New York Post and has been mentioned in many other popular publications.

Founders

Mark Apelt and Mark Lareau are Virginia dads who work hard. They live in Henrico. Apelt graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in environmental science. He has also worked as an engineer and a teacher. Lareau worked as a consultant in logistics and supply chain management.

Making idea

Mark Apelt and Mark Lareau started the development of the device when they had a child who had a cold. They both realized how awful it was to blow out candles. The resulting spittle would land on the cake, causing people to be appalled. To make matters worse, their son Jake had a spitting accident. Fortunately, this wasn’t the end of the world. But it was enough to motivate the pair to start a business.

They contacted a Michigan-based engineer to create a functional version of their invention. This was then sent to Upwork, a freelance network, for feedback. Using the Upworks comments, they were able to improve the product and get it on the market. With this new version, the Blowzee was able to sell more than 1,200 units in the first five months of its launch.

Investors

After appearing on Shark Tank, the Blowzee received a lot of press coverage. It’s also been featured by talk show host Jimmy Fallon and other iconic people. Even Jeff Bezos, who is a longtime investor in the real estate industry, has invested in the device. He’s also invested in a factory for its future manufacturing

Fortunately, they were able to secure a few investors, including Lori Greiner and Two Friends. These individuals each invested $ 5,000. After Lori and Kettle Gryp invested, the two founders got an additional 15% stake. For their efforts, they received a $300,000 deal with Lori. On top of that, they received a $250,000 investment from Robert Herjavec.

Manufacturing

The Blowzee was initially conceived in the Richmond area. Two fathers who are residents of Richmond, Virginia, got together to develop this invention. Initially, they believed that the only possible place for manufacturing the device would be China. But after a trip to the United States, they realized that a sensor would be needed in other countries.

Net worth

As of now, the inventors of the device have a net worth of about 100,000 dollars.

While they had some success in their initial sales, the sharks were hesitant to invest. However, they changed their minds once they saw the company’s growth. They gave Blowzee a boost by appearing on the television show “Shark Tank” in November of 2021. Although they didn’t get a $100,000 investment, they were able to secure a 20% stake in the company.

Online selling

The business continues to sell through Amazon, its website, and a few Richmond-area stores. North of 158 clients bought the item on Amazon and appraised it four stars by and large. The product is currently out of stock on both their website and Amazon. Currently, Blowzee is mainly sold through the company’s website. It’s also available in some small bakery shops in the Richmond area. Some people have even resold the product on eBay.
