Brandon Henry used his athletic prowess to become the first member of his family to attend college – first baseball at Citrus College and later football at Sacramento State University.

Now, Dr. Cooney serves as team physician for California Baptist University athletics program and works with Tour 4 Diversity in Medicine to visit schools to encourage young people to consider health care careers.

Early Life and Education

Henry was raised in Southern California and flourished athletically through various teams his mother signed him up for. Due to his athletic prowess on the field, he eventually became one of his family’s first college entrants – playing baseball at Citrus College and football at Sacramento State University respectively. Henry credits Sac State’s faculty and Black student community with keeping him focused on his goals during periods when his grades would drop due to poor grades.

At present, Dr. Johnson works as a vascular surgeon at Morehouse School of Medicine and helps young people explore careers in health care through the Tour for Diversity in Medicine. He visits middle and high schools to encourage young people of color to consider medical, dental, or pharmacy school as their next step in education.

Professional Career

Henry is a partner at Wagstaff & Cartmell LLP with extensive jury trial experience for multi-million dollar damage claims. His practice encompasses professional liability, product liability, explosion and electrocution cases, trucking litigation as well as personal injury/wrongful death matters.

He has appeared in various film and TV roles, such as running Wolf in John Ford’s 1956 movie, The Searchers. He specializes in portraying diverse ethnic characters.

He volunteers at Wells National Marine Reserve and Casco Bay Estuary Partnership, helping monitor marine invaders through eDNA sampling. He encourages youth participation by explaining that it’s not as hard as many believe; teaching them how to properly use equipment and what features are important when looking at samples.

Achievement and Honors

Brandon Henry credits Sacramento State faculty and peers with giving him the support needed to stay on course during two periods where poor grades threatened to derail his college career. They were instrumental in keeping him focused and on track; thanks to them he is continuing his goals while giving back to the institution that helped him get to where he is today – at MSM he intends to treat patients with general vascular surgical conditions as well as contributing towards medical education.

Personal Life

Henry Brandon was an American character actor best known for his films appearing during the 1950s and ’60s. Specializing in diverse ethnic roles, Henry trained at Pasadena Community Playhouse where he also was trained on stage acting.

He attributes his success to his grandparents and teachers who encouraged him to excel academically. Furthermore, playing football for Sacramento State while being part of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity kept his focus on academics.

Dr. Alomak also enjoys watching sports. Currently he serves as team physician for ACU men’s water polo team while previously having served on USA women’s volleyball team as team doctor.
