Broncos Raiders 2011 Rivalry

Denver fans know how intense rivalries can be. The Broncos are a good example of the tough competition the Raiders will face this season. Their last meeting with the Raiders came in week 17 at Mile High. Raiders kicker Michael Husted gave the Raiders a 21-18 lead in the fourth quarter with a 44-yard field goal, but Broncos kicker Jim Elam nailed the 53-yarder with seven seconds left to send the game to overtime. In overtime, Raiders running back Olandis Gary ran for a 24-yard touchdown, allowing the Raiders to win 27-21.

The Raiders and Broncos have met 17 times on Monday Night Football, tied for the most in the NFL. Only the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins and Washington Redskins have played more Monday Night Football matches. Denver has seen the Broncos meet the Raiders 12 times, five of which were at Sports Authority Field in Mile High Stadium. The Raiders are 9-7-1 while the Broncos are 9-7-1.

The Broncos were undefeated in their last meeting in Denver. This time, Jamarcus Russell threw three touchdown passes and ran one yard for a touchdown in the final minutes of regulation. The Raiders maintained a lead of 20-17 before the Broncos could score touchdown. In the second half, Derek Carr hit tight end Darren Waller on a two-point conversion pass. Brandon McManus attempted a field goal from 62 yards, but Maxx Crosby stopped it.

To prove themselves to the league, they want to win in 2011. The Raiders are ready for the playoffs, in other words! The Raiders will be crowned champions if they win!
