6 Camping Ideas to Make Your Summer Vacations Fun and Exciting

Camping Ideas

Camping is one incredible activity. Ask the adrenaline junkies and they’ll tell you how amazing it is to have a camping trip once a month or two.

As you know the summer season is just around the corner, what are you planning to do in the coming summer holidays? Don’t you get tired of the same old dinner parties? You must try new things, you never know when you find your gem.

In this article today, I’m going to provide you with a list of exciting camping areas. If anything, they’re going to rock your summer holidays this year.

Get All the Camping Essentials

First and foremost, you must ensure you have all the camping essentials. Going alone is one thing, but going with family and friends is another. You wouldn’t want the kids to suffer just because you forgot the blanket home, or would you?

Therefore, you must prepare a list of all the camping essentials and ensure to pack them all. Here are a few things that are necessary for a comfortable camping trip:

  • A large-sized tent
  • Foldable mattresses, blankets, and pillows
  • A portable water dispenser
  • Non-perishable snacks
  • Flashlights and mosquito repellents
  • Binbag, gloves, backpack, and first aid kit

Furthermore, be sure the tent you have is water-resistant. The weather in the woods or the countryside is quite unpredictable. Thus, it’s best to be prepared beforehand for the rains and thunderstorms.

Try Outdoor BBQ

What’s the point of having a family get-together if you’re not going to have some delicious food? Camping offers you an opportunity to bond with your loved ones, so why not add some food to it?

There’s no better way to enjoy a camping trip than having an outdoor BBQ, so don’t forget to take a BBQ grill and some meat with you when leaving for camping. For your own convenience, keep the meat marinated. It will reduce your workload.

Outdoor cooking is more than fun if you like adventures. Try it out, and I’m confident you’ll have an experience of a lifetime. Oh, and don’t forget to keep a few paper plates, napkins, and disposable plastic bags.

Go for Hunting

Are you an outdoor person? If yes, you’ll love the idea of going hunting with your family. Camping is fun at night, but what are you going to do in the daytime? It’s always nice to do something fun and productive rather than just sit ideally and do nothing.

Hunting is a great learning experience. I know because of all the survival tips I have up my sleeves, I learned them when I used to hunt with my family and friends. Make sure you have all the required hunting equipment and hit the woods.

Here’s what you need for a successful hunting trip to the woods: camouflage hunting apparel, a rifle, a 6.5 Creedmoor scope, waterproof shoes, and a set of binoculars. If you plan to hunt in the evening, you must carry a flashlight and mosquito repellent, too.

Enjoy Stargazing

Hunting in the day and stargazing at night, what a flawless camping trip it would be. Isn’t that right? Just imagine doing all these activities for a while, and you’ll love it. Stargazing is always on my list of to-do activities whenever I go camping.

The reason behind it is simple. Due to the air pollution in the city areas, we don’t get to see clear skies. Well, it’s not the same in the countryside. They’re less-populated; hence, there’s less pollution and clearer skies with lots of stars.

If you’re into astrological science, you’ll fall in love with the stars. Either you can take off the cover from your tent and sleep under the stars or you can simply sit outside the tent and gaze at the stars. If you happen to have a telescope, it would be a cherry on the top. In case you don’t, you can rent one or enjoy viewing the stars with naked eyes.

Scavenger Hunt

If you have little kids with you, games like a scavenger hunt will keep them entertained. It doesn’t matter how beautiful the camping site is, it’s not going to keep the kids hooked for a long time. Thus, it’s crucial to plan such activities to make the camping trip more exciting for the kids.

For additional motivation, I would suggest you offer the children a treat at the end of the game. A slice of pizza or a piece of brownies would suffice. It is simply positive reinforcement for your child. It will help him learn patience while keeping him active through it all.

Oh, and did I forget to mention that the riddles for scavenger hunts need to be easy yet interesting? Prepare the riddles while keeping the age of your child in mind. Make sure to give the kids enough challenge to keep them busy for a few hours, but don’t spoil the fun by making it too complicated.

A Few Miscellaneous Tips

Whenever going camping with family or friends, be sure to plan everything in advance, especially if you have kids coming along. The following are a few miscellaneous tips that can significantly improve your camping trip:

  • Make sure the snacks you have are non-perishable. They’re food items with longer shelf lives, so you won’t have any issue with the food even if it takes longer than 2-3 days.
  • Always pack extra clothes whenever you’re away from home. It can turn into a blessing in disguise.
  • If you wake up for the loo 2-3 times in the middle of the night and have kids along, it’s wise to invest in a camping loo. It may seem insignificant right now, but you’ll thank me for it later.
  • Prepare a portable hand-washing station at your campsite as soon as you reach the place. There are various DIY videos available on the topic, so you won’t have much trouble learning to make one.

Lastly, leave all your worries at home, enjoy your camping trip to the fullest, and make the most of your summer holidays. I wish you a fun and safe trip!
