Chinese New Year Jerseys For the Warriors

With the Chinese New Year fast approaching, the Warriors are getting a little extra exposure in China. The Warriors are a popular team in the country and are the first NBA team to wear sleeved jerseys. Their Chinese New Year jersey will be available for purchase online exclusively. The team has done a great job of expanding its brand in China and is expected to continue their success.

The jerseys are part of the NBA’s efforts to recognize the Chinese New Year. The NBA plans to broadcast special Chinese new year programming and a television advertisement featuring the players. The commercial will air on multiple Chinese networks. The Warriors will also wear their Chinese New Year jersey in an upcoming game against the LA Clippers.

During a special event held in Chinatown, the Warriors unveiled their Chinese New Year jerseys. San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and Warriors President Rick Welts attended the presentation. The new jerseys were modeled by Harrison Barnes and DraymondGreen, players. The new jersey has yellow and red colors, which represent the Chinese flag. The jersey features Chinese characters in its center.

The Warriors could also sell a commemorative “Noche Latina” jersey in addition to the Chinese New Year jersey. Since the league’s Chinese New Year celebration is one of the most anticipated and highly sought after events in the NBA, the Warriors could be wise to take a cue from the highly-selling Noche Latina jerseys. The number of participants has more than doubled from last year.

The NBA continues to reach China’s vast fan base by bringing its most famous players to China to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The NBA will live-broadcast 60 games in China over 17 days beginning Jan. 26. Yao Ming, a former NBA star, will also retire his jersey during Chinese New Year. This is centered around the Rockets’ game against Bulls on February 3. The festivities also include a special animated television commercial featuring Steph curry.
