Cowboys 2008 Season

The Cowboys 2008 season has come and gone. After close losses to New Orleans and Arizona, Philadelphia, Washington, Washington, and Indy, the Cowboys were 5-3. They were still a contender for Super Bowl. These are some things you should remember about the Cowboys’ season. – Don’t be discouraged, it will get better! Remember that you can always win in 2009!

The Cowboys opened the season with a 3-1 record. In week four, they fell to the Washington Redskins. After Tony Romo, QB, sustained a pinkie finger injury, the Cowboys lost to Arizona Cardinals in week 5. The Cowboys were 2-2 after a week of rest under Brad Johnson. They lost to the St. Louis Rams and beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but fell short to the New York Giants. After the bye week, Tony Romo returned to play wearing a splint.

They played the Cleveland Browns in their next game. Marion Barber, RB, ran 1-yard TD in the first quarter. Cleveland responded with a 2-yard TD pass to Kellen Winslow. Tony Romo, the quarterback, completed a 35-yard TD to Terrell Owens. RB Felix Jones ran for an 11-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Cowboys started their 2008 season on the road against the Cleveland Browns.

The Cowboys beat the Cincinnati Bengals on their way home in Week 12. The Cowboys had a field goal attempt blocked by the kicker Nick Folk, and Romo threw a TD pass to Jason Witten for a score. In the first half, the Bengals kicked a 31-yard field goal. Romo completed a 1-yard TD pass for Martellus Bennett in the fourth quarter.

During Week 16 of the season, the Cowboys had a difficult time scoring points, and they lost to the Ravens at home. They faced the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in the second half. The Eagles scored a TD early in the game and tied the score early in the second half. Then Dallas scored four straight touchdowns, including a 72-yard TD pass to Terrell Owens. Phil Costa returned a kickoff 98 yards to the Cowboys, which was the culmination of a difficult season.

The Cowboys finished the season with their last game in Texas Stadium. They finished the season with a record of 9-7. Then they played the Eagles in a de facto playoff game on December 28 and lost 44-6. Although the Cowboys had a poor record at the end of the season, they finished with a 9-7 record and a 4-0 start to the season. Although this may seem like a bad end to the season for the Cowboys, they had little room to make mistakes and still managed a winning record.

Last week, the Cowboys’ defense played a strong game. Their offensive line made a huge mistake and they are a top-10 team for sacks. Eli Manning was brought down eight times. Dallas’ lead grew to 14-8 before a safety made the score 16-8. But Dallas didn’t give up. In the fourth quarter, Tashard Choice ran 38 yards for a touchdown, but the two-point conversion failed. The Cowboys were able to remain in the playoff race thanks to their good fortune.
