David Agress is an award-winning lighting designer best known for creating Radio City Christmas Spectacular. He’s also lit numerous concerts, arena shows, television specials and more throughout his career.

At the CW Network’s annual Upfront presentation, Agress strives to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that captures the show’s youthful energy. That was his aim for this year’s show held at New York City Center.

Early Life and Education

David Agress was renowned for his appreciation of music and knack for selecting eye-catching lighting equipment. At age eight, he began studying clarinet study, followed by saxophone at 14. As an experienced musician of the old school, David played with adult symphonies, concert bands, jazz combos and dance orchestras; additionally he founded Tribury Concert Band which offered young people an opportunity to perform on a grander stage.

After retiring from banking, David Agress dedicated his energy to his family and charitable causes. He served on several civic, youth, and political organizations.
