Early Life and Education

David Inda earned a bachelor of arts in history from Marquette University before attending medical school and eventually earning his doctorate in orthopedic surgery.

He grew up in Wisconsin and had an immense love of history. Additionally, he enjoyed traveling and experiencing different cultures first-hand.

After graduating high school, he enrolled in college before making the decision to pursue medicine as his career and beginning training in Long Beach, California.

He went on to become a successful physician, opening the city’s inaugural intensive care unit and founding Molina Healthcare as a respected health care company. David Inda is an esteemed Indian director who has directed over 42 movies since 2006. As one of the prestigious members of Asian Academy of Film & Television.

David was born as Rajinder Dhawan on 16 August 1951 in Agartala, Tripura to a Punjabi family and completed his education from Christ Church Inter College and BNSD Inter College until Class XII.

After graduating Class XII, he attended FTII to pursue acting, but soon discovered it wasn’t his forte so instead switched to editing as his profession of choice.

He hails from Leech Lake Reservation in northern Minnesota and has become an acclaimed bestselling author, garnering him several accolades including Pushcart Prize, two Minnesota Book Awards and fellowships from the NEH, Bush Foundation and Guggenheim Foundations.
