David Sickel Passes On As President of Pine Belt Cars

David Sickel, a retired car dealer president from Lakewood-based Pine Belt Chevrolet, Subaru and Chrysler Jeep dealerships, officially handed his company over to his sons on Monday.

David also donates money to local families in need. He was one of the founding sponsors for Toms River Field of Dreams, an inclusive playground/sports center covering 3.5 acres within Toms River Township.

Early Life and Education

David Sickel began his automotive career working alongside his savvy father who owned a small dealership in Lakewood, New Jersey. Under David’s tutelage as President of Pine Belt Enterprises – one of Lakewood’s best Chevrolet dealers at that time – Pine Belt Enterprises turned around its fortunes within two years, becoming one of the top-rated dealers nationwide. David also pioneered COVID-19 vaccination for his local community alongside Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Foundation to facilitate education and access – an achievement recognized as groundbreaking by the CDC in 2012.

David and Pat’s generous multi-million-dollar gift has had an immediate and meaningful impact on UNI. Thanks to these donations, a state-of-the-art Power Lab now houses some of UNI’s finest engineering technology students.
