As a teenager, David Stickey developed an obsession with cars. At age 13, he started customizing his first vehicle – a 1934 Ford – and began racing it regularly.

Today, Stuckey is renowned for his expertise with hot rods. He has created numerous custom vehicles and is an influential figure within the Wichita, Kansas car scene.

Early Life and Education

David Stickey’s early life was difficult, but his passion for theater and music gave him strength. He grew up in Kerrville, Texas with his parents Reverend Matias Rodriguez and Mary Hope Virgen Rodriguez.

After graduating high school, he continued on to Trinity University in San Antonio where he wrote and directed plays during his time there.

He became involved in his community by playing saxophone in bands and discovering that he had a knack for songwriting.

When he and his wife Susie decided to raise their children, they both pursued careers in education. Both shared an affinity for Montessori philosophy, working tirelessly to create a community that was inclusive of all children and teachers alike.

Professional Career

David Stuckey is a Biochemical Engineer with extensive expertise in Anaerobic Digestion of Wastewater. His skillset has been recognized by various organizations, earning him multiple awards for his efforts.

He serves as the Critical Infrastructure Advisor for NVIS Communications, a company that works with electricity and other critical infrastructure entities. Furthermore, he holds the title of Director of Athletic Training Education at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.

Stuckey was an active child throughout his childhood years. He enjoyed playing football and basketball, as well as swimming competitively.

Achievements and Honors

David Stuckey was a high school football star with an impressive 3.70 grade point average and numerous accomplishments to his name. As a Nebraskan, Stuckey led his team in tackles and tied for the lead in quarterback sacks.

He is currently a partner at Holland & Knight, LLP and also serves on the board of directors for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington, D.C. He holds memberships in Oakland County Bar Association, Detroit Bar Association and Michigan State Bar. Ultimately though, his favorite part of any day is spending time with his five and three year old sons as well as wife Jennifer of 12 years – whom he married 12 years ago. Besides work he finds joy in helping others through various charitable endeavors.

Personal Life

David Stuckey was a loving husband and father. He was married to Portia Gabrielson Stuckey for 50 years, during which time they raised two sons together.

Dave was an active member of the United Brethren Church and engaged in all religious and moral matters. Additionally, he was a well-known citizen within his community.

He served on the school board of his district for several terms.

He was a certified athletic trainer and an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association and Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association.
