“Everybody hates Chris” is a popular meme that started in 2013 and has surpassed five million followers. People all over the globe use the hashtag to make fun of Chris Rock and his family. The hashtag is even used by Chris himself, who has an Instagram account. The Instagram account has many followers, including actors Tyler James Williams, Tyrel Jackson Williams, and Imani Hakim, who plays the character Tonya Rock in the popular sitcom.
The series focuses on a family with four children. Tasha Clarkson is one of the children who moves in next to Chris. She wants to have a “Platonic” relationship with him – the only girl who does not hate Chris. Everybody Hates Chris is loosely based on Rock’s childhood. He is the oldest child of Julius and Rochelle Rock III, and has two younger siblings.
