Trent University has been reluctant to divest from fossil-fuels despite student demand. The endowment fund holds approximately $34 million in stocks related to fossil fuels. The University recently rejected a student vote to divest from fossil fuels, but it has created an advisory committee to examine the issue. However, the Board of Governors has not yet endorsed ESG policies for all endowment funds. It is unclear, therefore, how the University will proceed.
