Ford, one of the social-emotional learning dogs that support the Brighton Area School District, recently had surgery to repair a torn ligament, the equivalent of an ACL tear in a human knee. Oakland Veterinary Referral Services kindly donated the surgery and waived all associated costs. Ford is now on the mend and is back in his training class at Brighton High School. But he’ll have to wait until September to resume his therapy sessions.
