LiAngelo was first to experience NBA action in the 2021 Summer League. Ball played 16 minutes, which is the shortest time of any Hornet. Despite the small sample size, he showed off his athleticism and scoring ability by shooting five of ten from the field and four of eight from three-point range. His two steals and 16-point performance against the Spurs were highlights to say the least.
Gelo’s offensive awareness and intelligence are lacking. He has poor handles, a lack of jumpshots and lacks the offensive awareness that is required to become an NBA star. He is also not agile enough to get to the basket and has poor ball handling skills. He doesn’t have good ball handling skills, either. So, if he’s looking to make an impact in the NBA, he should sign a two-way deal with the Lakers. If he improves his shooting, he may even receive coaching from Lakers personnel.
