Early Life and Education
Early childhood education is a crucial window of opportunity for development and learning. It can help children achieve social and emotional wellbeing, promote gender equality and foster social cohesion.
The United States has an extensive network of part-day, full-school-day, and full-work-day early childhood care and education (ECEC) programs, funded and delivered under educational, social welfare, and commercial auspices, often designed with varying degrees of emphasis on “care” and “education.”
Many ECE programs are also accompanied by family support services that may include health screenings and nutrition classes, as well as job training and other social services supports for families. Nonetheless, there are still large differences in the quality and availability of these programs.
Professional Career
A slugging catcher who led the National League in batting average and home runs during a dynasty that included Willie McCovey, Willie Stargell and Hank Aaron, Bench became one of baseball’s most legendary players. He slugged 45 homers in 1970 and 40 in 1972, vaulting him to the top of the NL hitter’s list.
He also helped lead the Cincinnati Reds to their first World Series in 1981. He hit a crucial two-run homer to help the Reds overcome a 6-4 deficit in Game 3 of the NLCS, and he was instrumental in helping the Reds score nine more runs in the next three innings to secure an NLCS sweep.
George’s strength and endurance were forged by a lifetime of wrestling, cycling and weightlifting. He set numerous world records in those sports, including a record-breaking hack squat – he was the first to hold 200 lbs of weight overhead with just his arms extended.
Achievements and Honors
George Hackenschmidt, a Baltic German strongman and wrestler, is well-known for his record-breaking strength feats. He first gained attention in 1896 for performing a 214 lbs overhead press with one arm; later, he won over 3000 wrestling matches and was regarded as one of the strongest men of his time.
He later wrote five books on training and physical culture, helping to influence generations of lifters worldwide. He also popularized the bench press and hack squat, which have become staple exercises in many training programs today.
Personal Life
George Bench was an active supporter of Black suffrage and participated in many important legal campaigns. He was also the first Black lawyer to graduate from Harvard Law School in 1869.
He was also the son of a barber. He was raised in Boston, Massachusetts.
In his spare time, George loved gardening. He grew a large collection of plants in his apartment and on his balcony. He also enjoyed working on the rooftop garden at Humber River Hospital where he was a Clerical Associate in the Mental Health & Addictions Program for Child & Adolescent Inpatient Unit.
Net Worth
A person’s net worth is a measure of their wealth. It shows how much money they have left after subtracting liabilities like credit card debts, mortgages, and other expenses from their assets.
A positive net worth is an indication of good financial health, whereas a negative net worth indicates that a person’s total debt is more than their total assets. The best way to improve a person’s net worth is to reduce their liabilities while increasing their assets.
