George Cleland is a judge in North Carolina’s 21st Judicial District. He began his tenure in office in 2020.

He is a member of the Democratic Party.

George Cleland ran as a candidate for judge of North Carolina’s 21st Judicial district in 2022 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

He is a native of West Virginia and attended the University of Pennsylvania, serving as both professor and trustee. Throughout his career at Penn, he held many administrative positions as well as teaching psychology classes and publishing numerous books and papers on the topic. Furthermore, he was one of the founding members of the American Association for Psychological Science.
