Early Life and Education
George Shanine, a Peoria native and University of Illinois at Chicago graduate, has spent his professional life with IBM. As senior director in charge of their Midwest Brand Sales Division for 12 years, he’s now overseeing 200 employees. In this capacity, his responsibilities include creating goals and strategies tailored to his organization’s needs as well as helping clients find solutions and services tailored to their business requirements. George is recognized by Marquis Who’s Who as an outstanding technology executive.
George Shanine places great value on building relationships and being a trustworthy adviser. He believes that an effective sales person must be willing to assist others regardless of whether it results in a sale. His company, AHEAD, works with enterprise IT organizations to accelerate cloud adoption and adoption. AHEAD’s services include cloud management, infrastructure, data center optimization and software-defined storage. Furthermore, George serves as CEO for TechLeaders Assn. – an organization which has grown from around 7,000 members in the Midwest region under his guidance.
Shanine is a podcaster and executive producer on Looks Unfamiliar alongside Lydia Mizon, Jenny Morrill, Al Kennedy, David Smith and Lisa Parker alongside Andrew Trowbridge. Married to Maisie Smith, they have two children named Lily and Emmie.
