How To Set Up Your New TV?

How To Set Up Your New TV?

When you buy a new TV, you’ll want to set it up right away—it can be an ordeal that takes hours! But there are simple steps that will make this process as smooth as possible. Here’s how to set up your new TV without all the hassle.

Plug It In

The first step is always the simplest. Just find the power button on your remote and give it a click. If you don’t have a remote, there should be a power button on the TV itself. Once it’s on, take a moment to appreciate the glorious picture right in front of you.

Once your TV is plugged in, go ahead and turn it on. You should see a blue screen that says Welcome. If you don’t see that, check to make sure your TV is on the right input. For example, if you’re using an HDMI cable to connect your device, it needs to be plugged into the HDMI port labeled ‘HDMI 1’. If there are two HDMI ports labeled HDMI 1, try connecting the other end of the cable to one of them. Or, if you’re not using an HDMI cable, try connecting your device to a different set of cables.

The set-up wizard will start automatically once it detects that your TV is connected to a signal source. On the next page, select Use Wi-Fi and follow the instructions. If you want to manually configure your network settings, select Set up a network connection with Ethernet instead.

Next, enter your wireless network name (SSID) and password or click Add Network to manually enter all of the settings for each type of connection. You can also skip this step by selecting I am finished configuring my home network from this menu.

Your TV will then search for available networks within range. Select yours when prompted and enter the password when prompted again for confirmation. Finally, hit done at the bottom of the list to complete the setup.

Post-Setup

Congratulations – You’ve Just Successfully Set Up Your New TV!

Now that your new TV is all set up and personalized, it’s time to sit back and enjoy. Whether you’re watching your favorite show, streaming a new movie, or playing the latest video game, there’s nothing like relaxing in front of a big screen.

To watch live programming, go to your input menu and select Antenna or Cable. To watch streaming content, go to the Input menu and select either Netflix or Amazon Prime Video. For gaming consoles, such as Xbox One and PlayStation 4, plug them into an HDMI port on your TV. For Blu-ray players and DVD players, use one of the HDMI ports on your TV – either directly from an outbound connection from a DVD player/Blu-ray player or through another device such as an AV receiver. And that’s it! You’re ready to start enjoying your new TV.

Set Up Netflix On Your TV

Now that your TV is configured! All you need to do now is sign in to Netflix and create an account. Start by entering your email address and creating a username. Choose a strong password with letters, numbers, symbols, capitalization, and lowercase letters. Create another login ID if you plan on sharing your account between multiple people. Then pick out your favorite show to watch tonight!

Or, if you are a cable subscriber, catch all your favorite movies and shows on-demand using state-of-the-art Optimum packages at affordable rates.

Once you’ve set up one device, it’s even easier to configure others because everything syncs automatically across all your devices! For example, once I connected my laptop or smartphone for the first time I never had to enter my password again; they were already stored on my phone. If you ever want to connect a different device later, simply go into settings and tap Home Network. On that page, click Add Device at either Wi-Fi Direct or Smartphone/Device Manager depending on how you want to connect (or both!). The rest of the set-up should be automatic once again

Summary

Thanks for following along, and enjoy your new TV! A lot of people are apprehensive about setting up their new TV, but as long as you follow these easy steps, setting up your new TV won’t be complicated at all. The first step is to unpack your TV. The second step is to mount the base on a wall (or stand). Third, connect the power cord, antenna cable, or satellite dish (depending on how you get your content), HDMI cables, USB cables, and power cables. Finally, turn on your TV by pressing the power button located near the power cord. If everything has been connected correctly, your TV should now be on. If not, double-check the connections to make sure they’re all plugged in securely.
