The series will join many other popular CBS series for the 2022-23 season, including the critically acclaimed NCIS: Los Angeles, CSI: Vegas, and NCIS: Hawaii. The 13th season will premiere in 2022.
The series also returns with a new family member. Erin was unhappy with Frank’s public warring and DA Crawford’s new policy of not prosecuting non-violent crimes. Frank and Erin fought openly for months, but ultimately won. The twist is that Erin will run as district attorney in Season 13. If Blue Bloods is renewed for a 13th season, it will be the third longest-running CBS scripted series. The show is one of the most popular police procedurals. In the season premiere of “Blue Bloods,” Danny and his nephew Joe Hill team up with another team to investigate the murder of a witness-protection lawyer. Jamie and Danny join forces with Joe Hill’s nephew in an effort to find Danny’s daughter. Jo Hill attacked Jo Hill’s ex-partner Jo and the pair attempt to stop her murder. As part of his investigation, Frank visits Joe in his apartment, where he confesses to not having a picture of his father.
