Introduction
Climbing two theatrical aspects of trekking to the base camp of Mount Everest with the climb of the Island Peak was a fantastic experience. The Everest Base Camp with Island Peak journey experience was a thrilling than regular trekking journey. Traveling in the beautiful Khumbu region of Nepal gave some incorporated highlights to my mind.
Firstly, Trip started to get very exciting and thrilling after the short flight to Luka and all those trekking paths through the ethnic sherpa villages like Namche Bazaar, Phakding, Tengboche, and many others. Trekking in Nepal with the beautiful Rhododendron with the mighty snow-capped mountains was an incredible memory. The panoramic views of the entire Mount Everest massif started to be seen as we hiked up to the vantage point at Kalapatthar.
Arrival in Nepal
On the first day at TIA airport, the representative member picked me up, and then I was transferred to the Hotel. I had some check-in process by myself. Then I rested until the night, and then I started exploring the valley. I had my dinner at Thamel, which was the most fantastic place in Kathmandu. I had enjoyed my night at a Purple Haze club. Then another day was exploration day at Kathmandu. On which I’ve explored some UNESCO listed world heritage sites of the valley. The beauty of the valley was marvelous.
Amazing flight to Lukla
On another day we had a scenic flight in the early morning from Kathmandu to Lukla, which took about 45 minutes. Then our trek starts with the moderate climb through Dudh Koshi River at the left bank. We arrived at the teahouse as we passed along the mani walls and approached the Dudh Koshi. With many climbs, the route continues along a small path and descends following the left bank of Dudh Koshi to Phakding. That day we walked a total of 9.8 kilometers with an ascent of 416m and descent of 614m trails.
The Delights of Namche Bazar
Reaching Namche Bazar was a fantastic experience, and having acclimatization on the high altitude before heading off towards Tengboche. Which was an ideal option to choose from. We took hours to walk up to Syangboche (3800m) from where the outstanding view of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kusum Kangaru was seen which provided a sensational feeling of peace. There was also another option to choose which was to walk up to the Khumjung Monastery.
Everest View Hotel
Then our trail leads us towards the Everest View Hotel, which was an incredible experience. From each room of the Everest View Hotel, the majestic view of Mount Everest can be seen. The fantastic fact was this Hotel is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, which offered a 360-degree view of the majestic mountains. Seeing the magnificent view of Everest from every room amazed me.
All visitors can enjoy the mesmerizing scene of Luxury and immerse themselves. The Everest View Hotel has been listed on the Guinness Book of World Records (2004).
Stunning Mountain Views from Kala Patthar
Reaching Kala Patthar was a fantastic experience. Kala Patthar is the second most top viewpoint as Everest Base Camp remains the maximum viewpoint in Nepal. From Kala Patthar, we can observe the closest view of Mount Everest. It doesn’t require any excellent mountaineering skills to see the most intimate picture.
Getting to Kala Patthar on foot was a serious commitment, as we had minimum time to reach here on foot. It is about a 12 days round trip which leads to Everest Base Camp from Lukla. Going on a helicopter ride from Lukla or directly took a helicopter ride from Kathmandu will also be a genuine option to choose from.
Highlanders Sherpa
Traveling through the local sherpas and Nepal’s small villages was an incredible experience. After passing Chauri Kharka and reaching Phakding, many scattered Sherpa houses were started to be seen, and the vicinity crammed with the spiritual calm, offered a feeling of tranquillity. The famous Sherpa Market, Namche Bazaar was an excellent place, and talking with locals was a fantastic thing to deal with. As we can get all kinds of meals on Namche Bazaar, it is also known as the mini Thamel of Nepal.
The Beauty of Rhododendron Forest
Along the way to Everest Base Camp, I have observed many beautiful Rhododendron forests with blooming flowers. Around the Tengboche monastery, many lovely Rhododendron forests were seen, and as we have visited at the end of March the woods look gorgeous. After the flight of Lukla rhododendron was starting to appear. As compared to below Namche Bazaar, more trees were begun to be seen after crossing Jorsalle. After crossing Namche Bazaar, until reaching uphill tail to Tengboche Monastery, there were no rhododendron forests.
Experience of Sagarmatha National Park
Traveling through the Globally high national Park Sagarmatha National Park was an ideal part of the Trip on the journey. Sagarmatha National Park is also listed on a UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites. Sagarmatha National Park is the home to many Endangered species of birds, animals, and plants. From Sagarmatha National Park we have seen musk deer, wild goat, Himalayan cock, Pigeon and snow leopard. It was a fantastic experience. Seeing mighty snow-capped peaks was also another marvelous experience.
Typical Delicious Sherpa and Nepali Cuisine
Trying the delicious cuisines of Sherpa and Nepali cuisine was a most wondrous thing to be experienced. My team has been enjoying the delightful Sherpa and Nepali cuisine from the first day. Typical Nepali cuisine includes lentil and spices soup- Daal served over boiled grain- Bhat usually rice and sometimes another grain, and then the darker is performed which is the vegetable curry and finally the condiments which are normally few in amounts of a spicy pickle- it can be fermented and fresh.
Best Guide
The most incredible part of the journey was to stay with our porters and guide extraordinary persons. They made our team great and professional from the time before our journey started at TIA airport Kathmandu and throughout the journey. Long the whole trek they were informative and supportive of me. We had spent the perfect time without any problems on the entire tour, still and the views from Kalapatthar and on the whole journey was flabbergasting. I want to recommend them for another trip. Mainly a Maximum number of guides which I’ve met on a trip were Sherpa’s.
Conclusion
However, traveling to the Island peak climbing with Everest Base Camp was a fabulous experience. The Trip was excellent with the stunning snow-capped peak, guides, and their helpful and accommodating locals. Observing sherpa culture and tradition was awesome.
The Everest Base Camp with Island Peak lets you compare the beautiful cultural and natural aspects of the Khumbu, and it blended the adventures of the climb and trek. Experiencing the once in a lifetime adventure is an adventurous thing to be shared, and I would recommend this Trip.
