John Brucker is an associate in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and a member of their Real Estate Practice Group. He received his Juris Doctor degree with honors from Seton Hall Law School.

Since 2016, Dr. Brucker has been licensed in New York. In his free time, Brucker enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Early Life and Education

John Brucker was an incredible caregiver, teacher and car mechanic for Carol until her diagnosis with Alzheimer’s. He treasured every moment they shared together and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Brucker was born in Cleveland, Ohio and received his education at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Afterwards, he relocated to Indianapolis and pursued a career as a portrait painter.

His first portrait commission was for former Indiana Governor Matthew E. Welsh, which resulted in a cover photo for Indiana Business and Industry Magazine.

Brucker is an artist whose work explores memory and loss, bodily fragility and death. Her installations incorporate found objects like family heirlooms with cast items, blown glass and performance art pieces to create powerful emotional impact. She draws upon historic traditions while experimenting with placement to achieve this emotional resonance.

John Brucker has spent his professional career in the real estate sector. As an associate at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher in New York, he is part of their Real Estate Practice Group.

He also serves as a consultant for Krannert Center, helping maintain its building and infrastructure. With a passion for preservation, he’s proud to be part of such an inspiring organization.

He is an enthusiastic fisherman who was raised in Washington State. As a boy, he spent his early days fishing for Salmon and Steelhead – honing his skills in both freshwater and saltwater fishing alike.

Talented painter and diligent student, Brucker was known for his attention to detail. His works can be found in the collections of Indiana Historical Society, DePauw University, Purdue University and Dartmouth College; additionally he posed for several high-profile portraits including one featured on the cover of Indiana Business and Industry magazine.

At the University of Pittsburgh, he made an impact with his research, earning himself the physics department’s best undergraduate student award and induction into Phi Beta Kappa. Beyond his impressive academic credentials, he also demonstrated a genuine concern for students by advocating on their behalf and connecting them to necessary resources. John Brucker is an American actor who has been in the industry for two decades. His credits include Dirty Dancing, Stealing Home and Dishdogz.

He is a member of both the National Academy of Eye Physicians and Scheie’s Alumni Association, where he continues to mentor medical students, residents, and fellows at Scheie. Most recently he was honored at their 143rd Annual Meeting as the 12th David M. Kozart Memorial Lecturer.
