John Dimkos – A Well-Known Name in the Food

Industry

John Dimkos was born in Florina, Greece on July 3, 1930 and immigrated to the United States in 1951 after receiving an honorable discharge from his service with the US Army.

He is survived by his wife Elaine and brother Chris Dimkos. Additionally, he has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Early Life and Education

Dimkos was born in Kato Ydrousa, Florina, Greece and immigrated to the United States in 1937. He was married to Sophia and they had two children: Apostolos and Paul Peters. A communicant of St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church and former Sunday school teacher, he also belonged to the Philoptochos Society and served as past president of Daughters of Penelope as well as being a member of Pan Macedonian Assn.

His children include Nicholas Dimkos of Syracuse, Phillip (Shiela) Dimkos of Camillus, Vicky Christo (Don) also of Camillus, Peter Peters (Diane) of Baldwinsville and John Peters also of Camillus; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as a sister. On Wednesday, December 16th from 4-7 p.m. family and friends may call at Buranich Funeral Home located at 5431 W Genesee St. in Camillus from 4-7 pm to pay their respects for John Peters who passed away peacefully on December 1.

John Dimkos is a well-known figure in the food industry. He has held various positions and gained an abundance of experience, which is evident through his work in food safety and quality control. Furthermore, John has earned praise for his dedication to both his career and community service. Currently living in Syracuse, NY at 92 years old, John loves spending time with his wife of over 60 years – she remains his life’s passion. Furthermore, as father to eight children as well as having numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, John actively participates in many clubs and associations around town.

John Dimkos is a 92 year old resident of Syracuse, New York who currently resides at 520 Plymouth Dr. For 36 years prior to this he lived at 101 Sunnycrest Rd in Syracuse NY 13206 and 1000 Willis Ave in Syracuse NY 13204.

He was born on May 10, 1925 in Kato Ydrousa, Florina, Greece and immigrated to the United States in 1937. A devoted member of St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church for many years and former member of both American Hellenic Educational Progressive Assn and Pan Macedonian Assn, he leaves behind his children Nicholas Dimkos (Syracuse), Phillip Dimkos (Camillus), Vicky Christo (Don) of Camillus and Peter Peters (Diane) of Baldwinsville; grandchildren Christos Dimkos (Sophia), John Peters(Emily), Joey Peters(Heather), Tia Rodrigues (Nickey); great-grandchildren Oscar Rodrigues and Ellie Sophia Peters are still with us today!
