John Grampovnik

John Grampovnik is a world renowned musician. A popular artist in the United States, he is known for his work as a guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer. He has won numerous awards, including the Grammy, and has played in various venues around the world. His latest album, The Man Behind the Music, was released in 2015.

Achievements and Honors

John Grampovnik was a deputy of the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Department. This was the position he had held since May 1997. He graduated from Kee High School in Lansing. On January 27, he passed away. The End of Watch call issued by the Allamakee County Public Safety Dispatch Center described him as a “true servant of the public”.

Grampovnik is survived by his wife, Ida Duffy; son, Jack Grampovnik; and daughter, Judy Harty. A memorial service for him was held on Wednesday, January 31st. After the service, a message was sent to members of the public from the Allamakee County Public Safety dispatch center expressing gratitude for his years of service.

Personal Life

John Lawrence Grampovnik was a lifelong resident of North Chicago, Illinois. He was born on May 24, 1970. In 1993, he joined the Waukon Police Department. After four years, he was hired by the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Department. Before he died, he was a member of the Saint Josephs KSKJ #53.

During his time at the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office, John loved to play the balina, an instrument he learned from his grandfather, John Lovell. He was a long time Cub fan.

In addition to his wife, John also leaves a son, a daughter, a mother, three sisters, three brothers, seven grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his father and his mother-in-law. His funeral service will take place on March 18, at the Iron Ridge Church in Waukon. There will be a visitation from 400 to 800 PM.
