Early Life and Education

John Quinlivan was raised in County Clare, Ireland as the youngest of six children born to Solomon and Mary Quinlivan.

As a young man, he began working in agriculture and livestock industries. Eventually, he opened his own feed company and joined Merchants’ Exchange of St. Louis, Missouri.

He worked as a lawyer and was active in his community. He served on the Stearns/Benton County Bar Association and Seventh District Bar Association boards.

He served on the Cathedral High School Board of Trustees and had a passion for education. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandkids; traveling; and being an ardent churchgoer. Professional Career

John was an ardent Metso fan and held several senior management positions since 1989. His most laudable achievement was revolutionizing customer satisfaction by guaranteeing customers were always contented, healthy and informed about product or service offerings. John earned his place in history by being inducted into the Metso Hall of Fame – a true blue team member at their flagship headquarters in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts USA. When not at work he enjoyed shopping and traveling around the world to destinations such as Caribbean islands, Hawaii Europe China; not forgetting his avid sports fandom!

Achievements and Honors

John Quinlivan is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served as Chief Operating Officer at North Florida Regional Medical Center, a 325-bed hospital located in Gainesville.

His accomplishments include helping the hospital achieve the highest rating among its peers for customer service. Furthermore, he has built bridges between staff and managers at the facility so they can share their vision and objectives more effectively.

Last week, Louth County Council members recognized the Manager for his accomplishments during his fifteen years in charge. They applauded his tenacity and dedication to the town’s growth, as well as their desire to collaborate with him in the future.
