Early Life and Education

John Wepler was born in 1851 to Henry Wepler and Elizabeth Wepler.

He served in the US Army as a Military Policeman. During the Iraqi conflict, he served as an Infantry Company First Sergeant.

After serving 15 months in Afghanistan, he returned home and is the proud father of three children.

He joined Marsh, Berry & Company in 1991 and quickly rose to become Chairman. With extensive expertise in mergers & acquisition advisory, as well as writing articles for leading insurance publications, he is currently a director and largest shareholder of the firm. Additionally, he serves on various other boards across different industries. Throughout his career he has earned numerous awards for his work.

John Wepler is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Marsh, Berry & Company (MarshBerry) as well as its wholly owned FINRA registered broker/dealer MarshBerry Capital Inc. Since joining the firm in 1991, he has personally advised on 207 merger and acquisition transactions.

After completing his engineering studies, John relocated to Fiume on the Adriatic coast of Austria-Hungary’s Empire. There, he began working alongside his father Robert Whitehead at their family-owned Whitehead Torpedo Factory. While there, John assisted both his dad and brother-in-law (Count Georg Hoyos) with developing torpedoes for Corvettes.
