John Wiencek

John Wiencek is a professor of chemical engineering who has held leadership positions at several universities. Currently, he serves as Provost and Executive Vice President at the University of Akron.

He is a native of Portage Lakes, having graduated from Walsh Jesuit High School. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati as well as master’s and doctorate degrees from Case Western Reserve University.
