Kadhan Recipe – A Quick and Easy Maharashtrian Sweet Dish

Kadhan is one of the traditional Maharashtrian sweet dishes. It is a quick and easy recipe. The main ingredients are steamed raw mango, jaggery, salt, and coconut milk. To make this dish, start by cooking the kulith in four cups of water. Then, add the cumin seeds, hing powder, chillies, and curry leaves. Once the kulith is cooked, you can use the juice to make a usal.

Sprouting horse grams should be boiled in double the quantity of water. Add the green chillies, ginger, garlic, and haldi leaves. Stir well and let it cool completely. Add two cups of water and stir. Pour the hot Saar into the tadka. Sprinkle salt and haldi leaf pieces on top and serve. The mixture should remain creamy and thick. It can be served hot or cold.

To prepare the tadka, heat a tablespoon of pure ghee and fry the garlic and cumin seeds in it. Once the garlic is lightly brown, remove it from the heat and allow to cool down. Next, add the haldi leaves and coconut milk. After that, pour the mixture over the horsebean juice. This is ready to eat! It’s a wonderful meal that can be enjoyed by everyone!
