Lillian Gardner, 16, Died in a Car Accident Thursday afternoon

Lillian Gardner was a 16-year-old Evansville resident when she died in a car accident Thursday afternoon. The accident on State Road 57, near Boonville New Harmony Road and Kansas Road caused her death. Steve Lockyear, Vanderburgh County Coroner, confirmed her death. Although it is not clear what caused the accident, preliminary investigations indicate that wet pavement may have played a role.

Although the cause of the crash remains unknown, Lillian Gardner (the driver of the vehicle) was wearing a seatbelt. She died at the scene. The accident is a tragic situation. The young girl, Ryliegh Williams, sustained blunt-force injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
