Michigan Finds Consistency Just in Time to Halt a Red-Hot Tennessee Volleyball Team

In the first half, Michigan found its consistency just in time to halt a red-hot Tennessee volleyball team. Michigan went on a 0-4 run to start the second half before UT closed on a 13-2 run, helped by four straight turnovers by Michigan. Tennessee has 13 fast-break points, while Michigan has 2. Hunter Dickinson is the Vols’ leader with 24 points. They average over nine points per match. Michigan is only 12 of 26 from the field, outscoring Tennessee by three points.

With DeVante’ Jones back in the lineup, Michigan is able to stop Tennessee’s run and keep their momentum going. The Wolverines have won four of their last five games, and have not missed a field goal in their last two games. They are 3-0 in their last five games and are now in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. However, a win over Tennessee would be the best thing Michigan could do for their season.

After trailing by 15 points early in the tournament, Michigan found consistency just in time to halt Tennessee’s run. Tennessee was just one game away from a Final Four appearance, having won four consecutive. It was not enough to beat a team that had lost just one game since February 1. They had lost just once in the SEC tournament and had a chance to get to the Final Four, but Michigan had a better shot.
