New Guidance Released to Shore Up Juvenile Immigrant Program

USCIS has released new guidance to help strengthen the nation’s program for juvenile immigrants. It will include statutory changes made in the previous years as well as changes made to the program itself. This is good news for young people who have spent years waiting for a green card. USCIS has a long history helping minors from immigrant families. The SIJS program protects immigrant children who have crossed the border illegally or have been abandoned or abused. Sadly, many of these children are abused and are left in the hands of abusive or neglectful parents.
