Portland Christmas Ships Schedule 2018

The Portland, Oregon Christmas Ship Parade is in its 64th year, and many Portlanders plan to enjoy the colorful flotillas this holiday season. The holiday tradition launches on November 30th at North Portland Harbor, and runs 15 nights through December 20th. The schedule varies each day, but you can expect to see at least a few of the ships. If you’re planning to attend one of the parades, be sure to check out the Willamette and Columbia River schedules.

The Portland Christmas Ships organization does its best to keep the vessels in operation, but they can’t always guarantee that they will be available each night. The organization’s website cannot say for sure how many will be sailing during any given time. In general, though, there are four to eight ships on the schedule this year. While the number of vessels is not known in advance, the organization works to minimize this uncertainty by posting an updated schedule as soon as possible.

You can also view the combined fleet at the St. Helens waterfront during the holiday season. There is free parking and a public restroom. A variety of food, including hot dogs and chili, will be available for purchase. As the ships make their way down the river, they will be available for purchase at a number of vendors. The Lewelling Neighborhood District Association will also sell hot dogs, chili, hot chocolate, and other seasonal treats.

The Cinnamon Bear holiday event will be back in December. This family-friendly event includes a free hot chocolate bar and stroller-friendly seating. Last year, the show was a drive-in, but is now on-site at the Oaks Park Dance Pavilion. Another option is the Holiday Express Santa train. This train, which will run from Oaks Park to the woods, also accepts non-perishable food donations for the Oregon Food Bank. While the train is canceled for this year, it is expected to return in 2021.

Portland Victorian Belle has holiday events including wreath-making and kids crafts. The Victorian Belle will be open from November 22 to January 4 and will also feature Krampus appearances. You can also take a tour of the historic Pittock Mansion, which will feature holiday decorations and live music. If you’re in the city, consider the Portland Christmas Ships Schedule 2018 to see if any of the ships are available. You’ll love the magical atmosphere in the city!
