Steve Hagberg was a dedicated husband, father, and family man. A member of First Presbyterian Church in Berthoud, Colorado he treasured his close church family as much as drag racing or restoring muscle era Plymouths and Dodges.

He graduated with distinction from Grove City College in Pennsylvania with Bachelor of Science degrees in Molecular Biology and Psychology before continuing on to Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia to receive his Doctor of Medicine degree.

Professional Career

He was brought up in a small town prairie life centered around sports, Swedish hymns and theater. At Gustavus Adolphus College in St Peter, MN he studied pre-medicine while serving as quarterback of their football team.

Class of 2022 Cadets Skander Guizani, Alexander Murphy, Steven Butts and Ethan Rabb are working on Warehouse Autonomous Robots for IAAP. While focused on their long-term goal, these four are looking for small wins along the way toward developing thinking robots capable of understanding human movement while functioning safely within working environments.

Achievement and Honors

Hagberg was honored to become both a member of the National Rowing Hall of Fame and recipient of Paul A. Reid Distinguished Service Award for Faculty. Among other accomplishments and honors, he graduated magna cum laude from Grove City College in Pennsylvania with bachelor degrees in Molecular Biology and Psychology before going on to Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia to complete his medical degree; at Temple he received an Air Force Health Professions Scholarship Program scholarship as an Air Force Health Professions Scholar Award recipient.

Hagberg will be remembered by his wife Sandra Hagberg, his children Gene and Dorothy Hagberg (predeceased), nieces, nephews, as well as many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery on March 14, 2022 and an outdoor celebration later in summer will also take place.

Personal Life

Stephen Hagberg was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle to his close family. Additionally, he enjoyed an active involvement in drag racing for decades – particularly muscle era Dodges and Plymouths equipped with Hemi engines that Hagberg would often rebuild himself.

He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Berthoud. His legacy will live on through his wife Sandra, children Stephen Hagberg Hand and Katherine Hagberg Hand as well as their spouses and grandchildren.

Dr. Hagberg currently practices Family Medicine at Heritage Valley Beaver and accepts Medicare insurance. He graduated with honors from Grove City College before undertaking his medical training at Temple University School of Medicine – affiliated with several hospitals as a result – becoming board-certified in Family Medicine with offices located in Beaver Falls, PA.
