Hegedus attended Deer Lodge High School before attending Northern Illinois University College of Law where he participated actively in its Moot Court Society and external competitions for external moot court competitions, ultimately graduating with a Juris Doctorate.

Hegedus has two children. Hegedus is married to Deanna L Hegedus and lives in Eatonton GA 31024. As an architectural designer specializing in various building types and scales, he brings professionalism and integrity into every case he handles; with expertise in lemon law as well as state and federal warranty law.

Hegedus and Pennebaker share an interest in documentary filmmaking and have collaborated to produce numerous documentaries together, such as DELOREAN which followed automobile entrepreneur John DeLorean as he assembled his iconic stainless steel gull-wing car; ROCKABY which provided an insight into Broadway play production; and UNLOCKING THE CAGE about animal rights attorney Steven Wise and his lawsuit seeking personhood for chimpanzees.
