After graduating from RA Long High School in West Virginia, Steven attended BYU Provo where he served a mission in Japan that instilled in him an everlasting passion for its language and culture.

Steve enjoyed spending his life with his family. In particular, he took great pride in caring for his own children. Additionally, Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing – always being there when friends needed someone to talk to or listening when someone had concerns of their own.

He enjoyed an outstanding career in retail asset protection as an industry leader and pioneer. His passion was helping retailers improve their loss prevention, shrinkage management and return on investment strategies.

He was a loving family man and treasured friend to many, with an unshakable faith that was evident through his life and sharing of it with everyone he encountered along his path. We will miss his balanced council, unwavering friendship and generous spirit as much as ever now that he resides with our Savior who he held so close. His life served as a testimony of that faith he shared so generously throughout life with all he encountered along his path.

Personal Life

Steven Battline was an exceptional individual who always made time for family. His interests included hunting, fishing, camping, four wheeling and watching the Denver Broncos. All who knew him will miss him greatly.

He married Cindy Aaron and together they raised three children: Caidance Aaron-Hogan and her husband Bo, Bryan Aaron-Hogan with Jennifer as his wife and their grandchildren, Scott McInnis-McInnis-McInnis family with children including granddaughter on the way, dog Remy as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will all miss him greatly.

Steve had an affinity for photography, especially family and friend portraits. His sense of humor would even come through during times when he was fighting cancer.

Bunin has managed to remain private about his personal life despite his fame. He is married to Viviane Bunin, a rheumatologist, and they share one daughter named Gabriela Bunin. Additionally, Bunin owns a dog named Gracie.
