The Boston Celtics Should Make a Playoff Run in 2014

The Boston Celtics have many options this season. It is widely believed that the team is trying to tank and will get the best draft pick for 2014, but they should still make a run for the playoffs regardless their overall record. They should give Rondo all the time he needs to develop, while still playing some of their young players. Brad Stevens, the new head coach, should be allowed to experiment with different lineups and styles.

The Boston Celtics have many weaknesses. The team is thin at center, with only Vitor Faverani and Rajon Rondo available in the draft. There are also plenty of shooting guards and power forwards on the roster. However, the roster has some issues at the top. In addition to missing key players like Kevin Durant, the Celtics will need to make a lot of trades to upgrade their team.
