In the NBA, last night’s Alex Len versus CJ McCollum matchup sparked a heated debate about the player’s personal life. Despite their intense rivalry, they were separated by their teammates before a fight brokeout. Despite the heated exchange, both were given technical fouls. After an investigation, officials determined that Alex Len had committed an offensive foul. He was awarded a double technical foul.
Both Len and Mykhailiuk were born in Ukraine. Len played basketball in his native country for three seasons with Dnipropetrovsk Higher College, which led to his FIBA tournaments and appearances with BC Dnipro in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague. After two seasons at the University of Maryland he was selected by Phoenix Suns in 2013 NBA Draft. They have played for the Phoenix Suns and Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings as well as Los Angeles Clippers, Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards.
After the fight, Hassan Whiteside was ejected from the game after he tripped Len while attempting to dunk on the Phoenix Suns center. The two players were each fined $15,000 each for their roles in the fight. Both players will be disciplined by the NBA in the near future. In the meantime, Whiteside is likely to face an NBA disciplinary action. Let’s take a look at how the two centers got to this point.
