First things first, take out the batteries when not in use. It is important if you’re going to be storing your device for a long time without usage. your purpose of storing will dictate the way you store your NV devices. 

If you are storing it for travel, you can simply remove the batteries and keep them in a safe place, put your NV devices in a protective case and you’re good to go.  

If you intend to store your device for a long time without usage, make sure to remove the batteries, after which, clean your lens with a microfiber cloth or a lens pen with a brush. 

You can also use an anti-fog paste to coat your lens for a few minutes before wiping it off with a microfiber cloth. You can also brush the exterior of your night vision with the brush on your lens pen. After this, your NV devices are ready to be kept away.
