Watching the Texans vs Saints full game is the best way to get into the action. Despite losing the game, the Texans showed a lot of heart. Despite blowing a double-digit lead, they refused to give up and fought until the final play. While the offensive line was a mess, the Texans did add Laremy Tunsil recently. Watson was fired six times, and was under pressure almost every time he went back. However, despite all the adversity, Watson kept fighting and nearly gave Houston a statement win in Week 1.
The Texans looked poised to run away with the game at one point in the fourth quarter, but the Saints fought back in the fourth quarter and eventually won. Drew Brees’ famous missed field goal in halftime was the highlight. The Saints were unable to capitalize upon the missed kick because of an incorrect 10-second runoff. They were able to win despite their frustration after an offseason.
In the other side of the ball, Houston’s offense looked shaky, with Foster sidelined due to a hamstring injury. Watson was 20 for 30, catching the ball four times for 40 yards, and completing 268 yards. Brees also connected with Michael Thomas ten times for 123 yards. Kamara was also impressive in the game, with 13 carries as well as seven catches for 72 yard.
The Texans are on the other side of the ball and have the ball at the Saints 47-yard line. Watson gets sacked for the sixth time, but his next two completions to Ted Ginn and Hopkins give Houston a first down. The Saints will have to punt from their 45 yard line. This is the only score of this game. If they fail to make a field goal, Lutz will have to settle for a touchdown.
Ingram has a bright future but Pierre Thomas has been more productive. Ingram may lose some carries this week. Pierre Thomas has averaged over five yards per carry this season. Although Pierre Thomas is prone to injury, he’s far more reliable than Mark Ingram. The Saints’ passing game will overwhelm the Texans. Although Ingram may be the best option for the Texans, the passing attack will prove too much for them.
New Orleans is a top team, while the Texans are a similarly elite one. Both teams have explosive offenses, but question marks on defense. The outcome of this game will determine which team is stronger. The Texans are 2-0 this season, and a win would make them a playoff team. However, the Saints have a new culture and a fresh identity. The Texans expect their players to be driven and motivated, and this game is full of contrasting styles.
