The WDACS New Freedom Taxicab Services Program offers free rides to eligible clients with the help of a volunteer driver. Clients can reserve up to four trips per month for as little as 40 miles. Clients must meet certain eligibility requirements to be eligible. Clients are allowed to use taxicab services for their transportation needs, provided they do not exceed the monthly allowance. To qualify for the program, clients must reside in Los Angeles County.
WDACS New Freedom also provides mileage reimbursement for volunteer drivers. These drivers are recruited by eligible clients who need transportation. These drivers transport clients when other transportation options are not available or when the client is too sick or frail for their own transportation.
